Prayer of the Week for Queen Elizabeth II

Gracious God, we give thanks for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth, for her faith and her dedication to duty. Bless our nation as we mourn her death and may her example continue to inspire us; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Prayer  for the  Week of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 

 

Creator God and giver of life. We thank you for blessing our Queen with long life. We pray that you continue to strengthen her, that she may continue to reign with love and compassion. 

We thank you for her loyal service and a life that has inspired so many throughout her long reign. 

Give each one of us the strength to work for change so that together we can make our world a better place for all.

Amen 

Creator God we ask that you bless the week ahead.
May its challenges not overwhelm us,
Circumstances not discourage us,
And in all things may we remember
That you are with us in our journeying,
Your love our energy,
Your word our guide,

Creator God, 

We give you thanks for the wonderful ways 

in which you gently guide our lives in order to fulfil your purposes in us. 

We give thanks for bringing us all to this day, 

And for your continuing presence with us through times of change. 

May the coming days be filled with your blessing 

Guide us all, we pray and pour the gifts of your Spirit upon us

We ask your blessing on the children of our school. Watch over them as they grow and help us as we prepare them for their future. Instil in our children the sense of curiosity to discover what is true and help us see the promise in each and every child that is entrusted to our care.

Creator God, as we remember the message of Easter and the light that shines through the darkness, we ask that God gives wisdom and courage to those who work for peace.
We pray that their efforts may be blessed, that they may bring an end to violence and comfort and strength to suffering peoples.
May each one of us know peace of mind and heart, peace of body and spirit, peace of community and world.
